Welcome to Plano West

Plano is a great destination for Texas travelers. Whether you’re visiting the mid-size city on your next weekend getaway, short business trip or sports tournament – chances are that Plano will provide all the things needed to make it an amazing time! From fantastic shopping and delicious cuisine (Texas has some of best food in America) plus world class venues such as Globe Life Park and beautiful parks.

Plano’s first settlers were subsistence farmers who received land grants in the 1840’s. The town incorporated one year after Texas Central Railway arrived, connecting local farmers and ranchers to markets beyond their immediate area for goods such as cotton or cattle; this made it easier than ever before with access around-the-clock! Although a fire destroyed all 51 buildings downtown just two decades later (1881), citizens of Plano rebounded quickly again by rebuilding what was lost due largely from efforts on resilience seen through strength like an adaptable community today.

In the past century, Plano has grown rapidly and become one of America’s fastest-growing cities. Two decades ago it was only home to several small businesses but today there are more Fortune 500 corporations than anywhere else in Collin County.
